
Women’s Basketball Announces 2026-27 Non-Conference Schedule

Nine games will be played at the KFC Yum! Center, including the Nov. 15 matchup against UConn
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Head coach Jeff Walz and the Louisville women's basketball team have announced their non-conference schedule for the upcoming 2026-27 season.
The non-conference schedule features nine home games at the KFC Yum! Center, including their matchup with national semifinalist UConn on Sunday, November 15. The Cardinals will also be participating in a multi-team event at a neutral site that will be announced at a later date.
The Cardinals open the season at home on Monday, November 2 against cross-town foe in Bellarmine. The Knights will be in their second season under Cardinal Forever Monique Reid at the helm. The two teams faced off on November 30 last season and the Cardinals came away with a 100-37 victory.
Up next for the Cardinals is a home matchup with Stetson on Wednesday, November 4. This will be the first time the two teams have played in program history.
Their first road game of the non-conference slate will be on Sunday, November 8 when the Cardinals travel to Evansville to take on Southern Indiana. The two teams squared off in the home opener for the 2024-25 season and the Cardinals defeated the Screaming Eagles 76-51.
The Cards return home for a matchup with Lindenwood on Tuesday, November 10. It will be the first time the two teams have played in program history.
Louisville heads back on the road and it is off to the state of Indiana again. The Cardinals head north to take on Ball State on Thursday, November 12 in Muncie. The two teams played in Louisville last season and the Cards came away with a 93-62 win.
The Cardinals are back at the KFC Yum! Center on Sunday, November 15 for the home matchup with UConn. It is the first time UConn will play in Louisville since 2019, a 78-69 win for the Cardinals.
Louisville closes out the two-game homestand on Tuesday, November 17 with a meeting against Tennessee State. It is the first time the two teams have met since December 2, 2018, a 107-52 win for the Cardinals. The Cardinals are 3-0 at home against Tennessee State under Walz.
The Cardinals return home on Friday, November 27 to face off with Akron. It is another opponent the Cardinals will square off with for the first time in program history. They finish the weekend with a home meeting on Sunday, November 29 against East Tennessee State. It is the second season in a row the Cardinals and Buccaneers will face off after a 88-50 Louisville win last year on November 29.
Louisville hits the road for the SEC/ACC Challenge on Wednesday, December 2 as they take on Texas down in Austin. The last time Louisville played in Austin, the Cardinals defeated the Longhorns in the second round of the 2023 NCAA Tournament, en route to the programs eighth appearance in the Elite Eight.
Back at home for the Cards on Sunday, December 6 as they take on Eastern Kentucky. The two teams squared off on December 17 of last season and the Cardinals defeated the Colonels 76-51.
Another in-state foe is next as the Cardinals travel to Lexington for the Battle of the Bluegrass on Wednesday, December 9 at Rupp Arena. The Cardinals have won each of the last two meetings between the two schools held at Rupp.
The final non-conference game will be on Thursday, December 17 when the Cardinals take on Northern Kentucky at the Yum! Center. The two teams opened the home slate for the Cardinals last season on November 9 when Louisville defeated Northern Kentucky 89-61.
