Raleigh, N.C. – The University of Louisville men's tennis team dropped their ACC conference opener 4-0 to No. 17 NC State Friday evening. The Cardinals drop to 4-2 (0-1 ACC) on the year while the Wolfpack improve to 3-3.

NC State started the match by taking the doubles point with wins on courts one and three. On court one, Matthew Fung and Fabien Salle fell to Tadas Babelis and Robin Catry 6-3. Josh Howard-Tripp and Alex Wesbrooks were defeated by Collin Shick and Yannai Barkai 6-3. Court two was left unfinished with Tin Chen and Sergio Hernandez deadlocked 4-4 against No. 23 Alexis Galarneau and Robert Turzak.

In singles play, Hernandez fell to No. 95 Babelis on court two 7-5, 6-0 to extend NC State's lead to 2-0. No. 71 Chen battle hard against No. 7 Galarneau
in the first set, but fell short 7-6 (7-4), 6-2. On court four, Howard-Tripp took Catry to a third set, but he was defeated 7-5, 3-6, 6-2 to clinch the match to the Wolfpack.

Up Next: The Cardinals stay on the road as they travel to face No. 13 Wake Forest on Sunday at 1 p.m.
