
Camara, Fonseca Earn All-Region Recognition

The Louisville duo was named to the United Soccer Coaches All-South Region Second Team.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – University of Louisville men's soccer student-athletes Aboubacar Camara and Pedro Fonseca each picked up All-Region recognition from the United Soccer Coaches.
The duo was named to the United Soccer Coaches All-South Region Second Team. The Cardinals have had at least one All-Region selection in 11 of the last 13 seasons.
Camara turned in one of the top goal scoring seasons in Louisville history this fall, tallying 13 goals with two assists for 28 points. The 13 goals were tied for the third most in a single season in program history, while the 28 points were fifth most. Camara was the first Louisville player to score double digit goals since 2016 and was second in the ACC and 10th nationally in goals.
Fonseca wrapped up his four-year career at Louisville with his best season in a UofL uniform. The forward finished with eight goals, a team-leading eight assists and 24 points, all of which were career bests. Fonseca ranked third in the ACC in assists, fifth in points and seventh in goals.
Camara and Fonseca add the All-Region honors to their All-ACC First Team selections last month.
The Cardinals finished the 2021 season 10-7-1 overall, claiming the program's first ACC Atlantic Division championship and earning a berth in the NCAA Tournament.
