
Bitting, Kouijzer, Plumb Earn NFHCA All-America Honors

The University of Louisville's Alli Bitting, Julie Kouijzer and Aimee Plumb have earned 2021 National Field Hockey Coaches Association All-America honors as announced by the organization today. Bitting was selected to the first team while Kouijzer and Plumb were named to the third team.
This marks the fifth straight year the Cardinals have had three NFHCA All-America selections, matching a program record set in 2017.
Bitting (Hummelstown, Pa.) takes home her third straight NFHCA All-America honor after being named to the second team in 2019 and 2020. The fifth-year senior and 2021 ACC Defensive player of the Year was a mainstay for a Louisville team that allowed just 18 goals in 20 games (an ACC-leading .900 goals allowed per contest) while posting seven shutouts. She also registered three goals and dished out three assists.

Bitting built an impressive resume during her field hockey career at Louisville, earning fourth straight NFHCA All-West Region honors and a trio of All-ACC selections. The 2021 team co-captain was named to the NFHCA Senior Team and was also named to the 2020 NCAA All-Tournament Team following the Cardinals first-ever Final Four appearance.
Kouijzer (Amsterdam, The Netherlands) earns her first NFHCA All-America award after a career-best season in which she tallied five goals and led the team with eight assists while standing tied for second on the team with 18 points.
The junior defender is a two-time NFHCA All-West Region selection (2020, 2021) and was twice named to the ACC All-Tournament Team (2019, 2020). This season, she earned All-ACC first team honors and and was a three-time ACC Defensive Player of the Week while helping direct Louisville's defense to seven shutouts and a 0.85 team goals against average. Plumb (Canterbury, Kent, England) also picks up her first NFHCA All-America nod after finishing the regular season on a strong note, with six goals and two assists over the last seven games. The sophomore forward tallied a career-high seven goals including the game-winners at No. 25 James Madison and at No. 10 North Carolina – registering a pair of scores in the 3-2 overtime victory against the Tar Heels.

She was tabbed ACC Offensive Player of the Week twice in 2021 also earned NFHCA Division I National Offensive Player of the Week honors.
