Van Lith Rated No. 18 in ESPN’s Top 25 Players List
November 08, 2021 | Women's Basketball
Hailey Van Lith is one of four players from the Atlantic Coast Conference on the list.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – ESPN listed the top 25 women's basketball players in the country today and coming in at No. 18 is University of Louisville sophomore guard Hailey Van Lith.
Earlier, Van Lith was named preseason All-ACC and to the Nancy Lieberman Award Watch List.
ESPN writer Katie Barnes had this to say about Van Lith.
"At just 5-7, Van Lith was among the best rebounders on Louisville's squad last season. Her tenacity and physicality make her stand out on the court. Her 38.3% 3-point shooting led the Cardinals last season, and with the graduation of Dana Evans, look for Van Lith to increase her scoring. Louisville has been a perennial power in the ACC, and if Van Lith has a breakout season, the Cardinals could be serious contenders."
ESPN analyst Debbie Anthonelli then provided a scouting report on the sophomore guard.
Louisville opens the 2021-22 season against No. 22 Arizona on Friday in Sioux Falls, S.D. Tip-off is set for 4:30 p.m. ET on ESPNU.
