Men's Tennis Spring Schedule Released
November 17, 2021 | Men's Tennis
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – University of Louisville men's tennis coach Rodrigo da Silva has 2021-22 spring schedule which features six opponents ranked in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association along with 13 home matches.
"Our 2022 spring schedule is tough, both within the ACC and against some quality non-conference opponents. But we have high expectations, and with the experienced players that we have returning as well as our newcomers, our guys have been working hard this fall and we are ready to meet the challenge."
The Cardinals will start the spring with a home match against Dayton and Bellarmine on January 18. After the home opener, Louisville will begin a challenging seven-match road swing that opens with a trip to in-state rival No. 18 Kentucky. Up next, Louisville will travel Northwestern and then head to Orlando, Florida where it will take on host 11th-ranked Central Florida and either No. 19 Stanford or No. 23 Tulane. Trips to Middle Tennessee and Michigan State will conclude the early string of road matches.
Louisville will return to the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center, wrapping up the month of February with a home match against Purdue and a doubleheader against Indiana and Xavier. The team will close out its four-match home stand with its ACC opener against Clemson on March 4 and continue league play with a home contest against Georgia Tech on March 6.
The following weekend the Cardinals will hit the road to face 2021 ACC champion Virginia and close the trip at Virginia Tech. The team returns home for its next two matches against Florida State and Miami the following weekend.
The next four contests will feature opponents from North Carolina, as the Cardinals will hit the road to face Duke and No. 6 North Carolina. Louisville will continue ACC play in the first weekend of April with home matches against NC State and Wake Forest before wrapping up the conference season at Notre Dame and Boston College.
The Cardinals will play host to Belmont and Butler in their regular season finale on April 13 at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.
Following the completion of the regular season, Louisville will travel to Rome, Ga., for the ACC Tennis Championship which will take place April 20-24.
