Cards Add Honea to 2022 Signing Class

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Ryann Honea has signed a National-Letter-of-Intent to continue her career with the University of Louisville Women's Golf Team on Friday.
"We are extremely excited to add Ryann to our roster next fall," said Whitney Young. "She is a very competitive and consistent player who isn't afraid to shoot a low number.  Ryann has proven she can compete on the junior level and we look forward to her helping us achieve our goals on and off the course as a Louisville Cardinal."Â
A native of San Angelo, Texas, Honea was named the 6A Texas State Golfer of the Year at Central High School, where she also guided her team to the 2021 Texas Girls state championship. She also guided her team to a pair of district titles, while earning all-district and all-region accolades during her freshman and junior seasons.
An all-state selection as a junior, Honea was also the only individual state champion from Central High.
Over the course of her career, Honea posted course records at Course records at the Diamondback Golf Club, Squaw Valley Links, and Ratliff Ranch.
The 91st-ranked player in the American Junior Golf Association, she won the AJGA Junior title at Squaw Creek and finished in a tie for second place at the Bob Estes Junior Championship and at the Gateway First Bank Tulsa Junior hosted by Bo Van Pelt.Â
