Cards Tie for Tournament Title at the Illini Women's Invitational

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Louisville women's golf team shot a final round 277, the best score of the day, to finish in a tie for first place at the Illini Women's Invitational at Medinah, held at the par-72, 6,159-yard Medinah Country Club.
It's the first win for the Cardinals since taking home the 2019 Cardinal Cup at the University of Louisville Golf Club.
Heading into the final day in a tie for fifth, the Cardinals made a dramatic leap by combining to shoot 11-under-par to take home a share of the title with No. 20 Georgia.
Kendall Griffin fired a final round 68 to finish the tournament at 8-under-par and close the day in second place overall. Entering the day in eighth, Griffin moved up six spots to post her best Louisville finish and help the Cardinals pick up the win.
Lauren Thibodeau also carded 68 to post a third-place finish at 6-under-par. Hana Ryskova closed the day with a 69 to finish in a tie for 18th with a 2-under-par 214. Carmen Griffiths tied for 42nd at 3-over-par and Mairead Martin was tied for 50th after her total of 5-over-par.
The Cardinals close their fall season at the Club at the Olde Stone Intercollegiate in Bowling Green.
