Â
Malea Williams was named Kentucky Association of Basketball Coaches Region 11 Player of the Year and to the Kentucky All-State Girls Basketball Team. She is a finalist for Kentucky Lions Eye Association Miss Basketball, which will be presented virtually on June 28.
Â
During her senior season, she averaged 19.6 points, 13.6 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.8 steals per game. She scored a career-high 32 points in an 89-28 win over Bryan Station. She finished her career with 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds.
Â
She led Scott County to a 28-7 record and a trip to the 11th region championship in 2019-20. In her sophomore and junior seasons, she helped lead the Cardinals to a combined 65-5 record and two trips to the Kentucky High School Athletic Association Sweet 16.
Â
"We are excited to add Malea Williams, a graduating senior out of Scott County High School to our 2020-21 roster. Malea brings a unique skill-set as she is able to knock down the 3-point shot from the trail position at the post and adds a presence as a shot blocker on the defensive end. Malea will redshirt this season to focus on her academics, as well as strength and conditioning. We anticipate her being a great addition to our core group and look forward to getting her in the mix this fall." – Jeff Walz, Louisville Head Coach
