University of Louisville softball senior pens a blog to discuss her future with the Cardinals.
Â
Dear CardNation,
These past several weeks have been anything but normal for Louisville, the United States, and the entire world. The COVID-19 pandemic has deconstructed our daily lives and societal norms. However, as we walk through this unchartered territory it is important to stand together and do everything we can to get back to the way things used to be.
Â
It was not too long ago that I was with some of my teammates when the announcement was made that our season was over. Just like that. In a blink of an eye. The senior season I had been training and working for my entire life was stripped away, with a single tweet. It is a feeling that I would not wish upon anyone. The uncertainty of whether I would ever get to wear "Louisville" across my chest on Don Dobina Field ever again.
Â
It has been an absolute privilege to be a Louisville Cardinal these past four years. There is nothing I would change about my experience here in The Ville. The fans, the friends, the environment, the coaches, and the faculty, are unmatched.
Â
With that being said, I am excited to announce that I will be returning for a fifth year! I would like to thank Coach Holly Aprile, Vince Tyra, the ACC, the NCAA and all other support staff that have made this fifth year possible. I am extremely blessed to have the opportunity to play in front of CardNation for one more year. I will be sure to give my all to this incredible program throughout the 2020-21 school year. Looking forward to seeing you next season!
