The Cardinals will open the 2020 season with 15 players who have already earned their college degrees.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville football team posted the top turnaround among Power 5 programs on the field and that improvement carried over into the classroom, as well.
The Cardinals achieved a collective 3.2 grade-point average for the 2020 spring semester and 85 student-athletes made the Athletic Director's Honor Roll earning a 3.0 GPA or better for the semester.
"I'm thrilled with the work our players put into their academics this semester during these difficult times," Satterfield said. "They were committed to being the best on the field and that translated into their success in the classroom. Our academic staff deserves a lot of the credit for holding our players accountable, and it showed in the many positive results."
There were eight student-athletes who earned a 4.0 grade point average for the semester and 10 student-athletes were able to receive their degrees in May.
When the Cardinals take the field in September, a total of 15 student-athletes will be playing with their degrees in hand. The following players have earned their degrees heading into the 2020 season: C.J. Avery, Robbie Bell, Cole Bentley, P.J. Blue, Maurice Burkley, Rodjay Burns, Marlon Character, Cameron DeGeorge, Derek Dorsey, Jared Goldwire, Isaiah Hayes, Jawon Pass, Tabarius Peterson, Ean Pfeifer, Russ Yeast.
