LOUISVILLE, Ky. — University of Louisville Athletics leadership has remained in regular communication with UofL and Atlantic Coast Conference officials to monitor and respond to continuing developments related to the coronavirus (COVID-19). At this time, University of Louisville home athletics competitions and team practice sessions will occur as originally scheduled.
UofL's spring break has been extended through March 17. Classes will be delivered remotely starting March 18 through April 5. UofL Athletics will continue to follow University protocol for travel. All incoming and outgoing international university-related travel is suspended through April 30. Domestic travel will be restricted to essential travel for personnel and teams. Complete details of the UofL preventative actions are included here.
Individuals should practice good hygiene to help prevent further spread of the coronavirus, including these measures:
- Wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
- If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol. Always wash hands with soap and water if hands are visibly dirty.
- Use non-contact methods of greeting and avoid handshakes.
- Avoid touching facial areas of eyes, nose and mouth.
- Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue or your elbow.
- Stay home if you are sick or have chronic breathing problems, or if you have a sick family member in your home.
- Regularly disinfect commonly used surfaces like doorknobs, handrails, furniture and keyboards.
For those who may be unable to attend the Cardinals' athletics home events, many are televised live either through the linear ACC Network, one of the ESPN family of networks, or on ACCN Extra through the ESPN app for authenticated subscribers. The UofL Athletics website www.GoCards.com has a complete schedule with direct links to the online digital platform to watch televised events.
As the situation surrounding the coronavirus evolves, updates will be posted as they become available on GoCards.com, as well as on our Twitter (@GoCards). Official messages and status updates from the University are available here.
