Walz Named to Naismith Coach of the Year Watch List

Louisville head coach Jeff Walz is one of 15 coaches named to the watch list.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Louisville women's basketball head coach Jeff Walz has been named to the 2020 Werner Ladder Naismith Women's Coach of the Year late season watch list.

He is one of 15 coaches named to the list and is just one of two coaches from the Atlantic Coast Conference, joined by North Carolina State's Wes Moore.

Despite losing three players to the WNBA draft from last year's team that finished 32-4 and claimed a portion of its second straight ACC regular season title, Walz has led the Cardinals to another successful campaign.

Louisville enters the week with a 23-3 record and ranks No. 5 in the Associated Press poll. With four games to go in the regular season, the Cardinals find themselves with a 12-2 record in league play and back in first place in the ACC race.
The Cardinals have two road games this week, traveling to Georgia Tech on Thursday and Pitt on Sunday.
