
No. 7 Louisville Heads South to Play at Miami on Thursday

The Cardinals and Hurricanes tip off at 8 p.m. ET on ACC Network.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – After opening Atlantic Coast Conference play with a 3-0 record, No. 7 Louisville women's basketball (14-1) travels to play at Miami on Thursday at 8 p.m. ET. The game will broadcast on the ACC Network.

In the win over Duke, Jazmine Jones scored a career-high 26 points on 9-14 shooting and added 10 rebounds for her first double-double of the season and the third of her career. Her previous career-high was 25 points against Central Michigan on Nov. 14, 2019. It marked her first double-double since she had 13 points and 12 rebounds in the win over UConn on Jan. 31, 2019.

The Tallahassee, Fla., native became UofL's 30th 1,000 point scorer and is the 11th player to eclipse 1,000 points under head coach Jeff Walz.

Jones ranks third in the ACC with a 57.7 shooting percentage. She leads the team with 1.5 steals per game, ranks second with 14.4 points per game and 3.5 assists per game, and third with 5.1 rebounds. Jones has six 20-point scoring games this season which is tied for the lead in the ACC. She is averaging 20.3 points per game in ACC play, which ranks fourth in the league.

UofL is giving up 58.1 points per game, which ranks third in the ACC, and have held opponents to 67 points or less in all but one game. In three ACC games, they are holding opponents to 54.3 points per game, which leads the league.

Louisville is 3-0 to open league play for the first time since 2018-19. That season, they opened the ACC at 6-0 before falling to 50-49 to No. 12 Florida State on Jan. 21.

Four of their five losses have come to AP Top 25 Teams as they fell 89-83 at DePaul, 75-53 to Oregon State and 58-45 to Indiana. They have the fourth toughest schedule in the country.

She ranks third in the ACC with 10.4 rebounds per game, fifth with a 51.2 field goal percentage and 1.7 blocks per game, and seventh with 16.3 points per game. She has seven double-doubles on the year.

Junior Mykea Gray ranks second on the team with 12.1 points per game and ranks seventh in the league with 1.7 steals, while junior Kelsey Marshall is averaging 10.6 points per game, shooting 34.1 percent from deep and knocking down 30 3-pointers, which both rank eighth in the ACC.
