Cards post a 3.415 team GPA in the fall
The University of Louisville softball team completed a successful fall semester in the classroom, posting a 3.415 team grade-point average. The accomplishment marks the program's 29th straight semester with a collective GPA of 3.0 or higher - a streak dating back to the fall of 2005.
Â
In addition to the team's combined academic mark, 16 student-athletes were named to the Athletic Director's Honor Roll with a 3.0 or better GPA. Lexi Carver, Rebecca Chung, Madison Ciaccio, Taja Felder, Peyton Hudson, Taylor Roby, Riley Schindler and Jenna Servi were named to the Dean's List after achieving a semester GPA of 3.5 or better. Elana Ornelas was named a Dean's Scholar with a 4.0 GPA in the fall.
"One of our daily goals both individually and as a team is to be the best version of ourselves every day," said UofL head coach Holly Aprile. "Whether it be in our interactions with fellow teammates, on the field, or in the classroom we have high expectations for one another. Our efforts in the classroom this semester are a reflection of that standard and I couldn't be more proud of our achievements."
The Cardinals will open the 2020 campaign February 7-9 at the NFCA Leadoff Classic where they will take on Ole Miss, Baylor, Texas State, Mississippi State and Missouri.
