Fourteen Cardinal Programs Post Perfect Single Year APR Scores

15 teams were at or above the national four-year APR average
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - University of Louisville athletic teams posted fourteen perfect scores in the most recent single-year Academic Progress Rate (APR) data that was released by the NCAA on Wednesday.

The 14 UofL sports with a perfect 1,000 single-year APR score for the most recent 2017-18 figures are: men's basketball, women's basketball, men's cross country, women's cross country, football, men's golf, women's golf, lacrosse, women's soccer, softball, women's swimming, men's tennis, women's track, and volleyball. Six additional Cardinal athletic teams had a 2017-18 APR at 970 or above.

UofL's women's basketball, women's cross country and women's golf teams are among the top-10 percent in their respective sports in the latest APR, which measures academic eligibility, retention, and graduation for student-athletes. All three programs have a perfect 1,000 multiyear score for the most recent four-year period from 2014-18, with women's track (998) and volleyball (995) just shy of the mark.

All total, 15 teams were at or above the national four-year APR average for their respective sports. All of the 23 Cardinals athletic teams — including 10 men's and 13 women's sports — have a four-year APR score at 961 or above, well surpassing the minimum of 930 necessary to participate in post-season competition and to avoid penalties.
