Cardinals Top Wright State 6-1

Sergio Hernandez clinched the win for Louisville at No. 4.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville men's tennis team triumphed over Wright State 6-1 on Sunday evening at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center for their 11th straight victory over the Raiders.
With the victory, the Cardinals improve to 12-5 overall, while the Raiders drop to 7-9 on the season.
"It was a good bounce back," said UofL head coach Rex Ecarma. "I'm really happy for Clement Filho. He's been out with an injury for almost the entire season and this was his first match back. He looked really good."
Brandon Lancaster and Alex Wesbrooks registered the first doubles win of the match for the Cardinals, topping Leighton Brandon and Carlos Sanchez 6-2 at No. 2. Fabien Salle and George Hedley then secured the doubles point for the Cardinals with a 6-4 victory over Param Pun and Lorenzo Maccarini at the one-spot. On court three, Sergio Hernandez and Marcus Sulen were down 5-2 to Javier de la Villa and Theo Bourghelle.
Filho extended the Cards' lead to 2-0 with a dominant 6-1, 6-0 victory over Bourghelle at the six-spot in his debut in dual match action. On court one, Christopher Morin-Kougoucheff downed Param Pun 6-2, 6-2 to give the Cards a 3-0 advantage.
Just minutes later, Hernandez clinched the match for Louisville, trumping Brandon 6-2, 6-0 at No. 4.
In other singles action, Lancaster fell to Maccarini 0-6, 6-2, 1-0 (10-8) at the two-spot. Salle defeated de la Villa 6-4, 6-4 at the three-spot, while David Mizrahi toppled William Morton 6-3, 4-6, 1-0 (10-4) at No. 5.
The Cardinals will be back in action on Friday when they head to Winston-Salem, N.C. for a matchup against defending national champion Wake Forest. Match time is slated for 4 p.m.
