The University of Louisville women's tennis team fell 4-2 at Nebraska for its first loss of the season Friday night in Lincoln. The Cardinals, 9-1, dropped the doubles point and took three singles positions to a third set before bowing out.

Despite Aleksandra Mally and Chloe Hamlin winning 7-5 at No. 3, the Cardinals dropped the doubles point when Raven Neely and Nikolina Jovic fell 6-2 at No. 1 to Marina Cozac and Vasanti Shinde. Sena Suswam and Diana Wong fell 6-2 to Claire Reifeis and Jessica Aragon at No. 2.

Raven Neely evened the score at 1-1 with a win at No. 3 over Marina Cozac, who bowed out 6-1, 6-3. Cardinal Diana Wong fell 6-3, 6-3 at No. 6. Nikolina Jovic tied the score at two for the Cardinals at No. 4, beating Jeannie Lozowski 6-3, 7-6. Aleksandra Mally fell 6-3, 6-7, 6-1 at No. 1 to Claire Refeis to put Nebraska up 3-2. Chloe Hamlin fell 2-6, 7-5, 6-4 to Jessica Aragon at No. 5 to tip the match to Nebraska. At No. 2, Sena Suswam battled Vasanti Shinde, winning the first set 6-1, falling 6-4 in the second and leaving the third set tied at four when the match was clinched.

The Cardinals play Wichita State in Lincoln on Saturday at 3 p.m. ET.
