Cardinals Host Annual Tip-Off Luncheon
November 01, 2019 | Women's Basketball
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – As the University of Louisville women's basketball season inches closer, many fans got their first look at this year's team at the annual tip-off luncheon on Friday afternoon.
The luncheon opened with a highlight video that excited the sold-out crowd and then Sean Moth introduced the 2019-20 version of the Louisville women's basketball team.
Following a three-course meal, Moth held a question-and-answer session with seniors Yacine Diop, Bionca Dunham, Jazmine Jones, Jessica Laemmle and Kylee Shook.
Head coach Jeff Walz then stepped to the podium to thank the crowd and offer fans insight on this year's team.
Last season, the Cardinals produced a second consecutive 30-win season with a 32-4 record. They entered the NCAA Tournament as a No. 1 seed for the second straight year and advanced to the Elite Eight for the fifth time in program history.
Louisville was picked first in the ACC ahead of second-place NC State, while Elizabeth Balogun and Dana Evans were named preseason All-ACC.
Louisville opens its season on Tuesday, Nov. 5 against Western Kentucky at the KFC Yum! Center and will play its first five games at home.
