Softball Signs Chung

University of Louisville softball head coach Sandy Pearsall has announced that Rebecca Chung has signed National Letters-of-Intent to join the Cardinals in the fall of 2018.

"We are happy to welcome Rebecca to the Louisville softball family," said Pearsall. "She is a talented catcher with a strong arm and quick release. We are thrilled to be adding her to our battery. In addition to catching, she has the ability to come in and play third base for us when we need her to. Offensively, Rebecca has explosive power and should be a long ball threat in the future. We are excited about her and we know she will contribute to our program."

Travel Team: Corona Angels

Chung joins Louisville from Torrance, Calif., where she is a four-year starter for West Torrance High School. The catcher/third baseman was named to the Daily Breeze Top Player to Watch List as her team entered the 2018 season ranked second in the CIF Southern Section Division 3.

She earned 2017 California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) All-Southern Section honors after finishing her junior season with a .429 batting average and 10 home runs to help her team to a 22-8 overall record in 2017.

Chung also plays for the Corona Angels travel ball team.
