
No. 4 Women's Basketball Faces NC State in ACC Semifinals

The Cardinals and Wolfpack tip off at 12:00 p.m. ET.
The Cardinals find themselves in the ACC semifinals for the fourth consecutive year, but are 0-3 the last three seasons and seek their first ever trip to the title game.
In late December, Louisville won the lone matchup against NC State in Raleigh. They opened up the game with a 26-1 lead before holding on to a 55-47 victory. Myisha Hines-Allen led the way for the Cards in the win with 17 points and 12 rebounds, while Asia Durr added 17 points.
ABOUT THE WOLFPACK
NC State (24-7, 11-5) enters Saturday's contest with wins in 12 of its last 14 games, including a 51-45 win over Duke on Friday.
Senior Chelsea Nelson leads the Pack with 13.2 points and 9.6 rebounds, which ranks 3rd in the ACC. She has 10 double-doubles, which ranks fifth in the ACC.
Senior Akela Maize averages 10.1 points per game and is shooting 53.2 percent from the floor, which ranks fifth in the ACC, while her 1.9 blocks rank second.
The Wolfpack ranks 10th in the country and second in the ACC with a 10.3 rebounding margin and 10th in the country with 1,282 total rebounds. They are exceptionally tough on the defensive glass, pulling down 76.2 percent of chances, which leads the ACC.
They have shot 660 free throws, which rank seventh in the country, their 437 made free throws rank 21st, but they are shooting just 66.0 percent from the stripe, which ranks third to last in the ACC.
Defensively, they are giving up just 57.6 points per game, which ranks 42nd in the nation.Â
