
Durr, Hines-Allen Named to Citizen Naismith Trophy Late Season Top 30

Durr and Hines-Allen have combined for 3,377 points in their careers.
ATLANTA (February 12, 2018) – Today, the Atlanta Tipoff Club announced that senior Myisha Hines-Allen and junior Asia Durr are two of 30 players in the running for the Citizen Naismith Trophy Women's College Player of the Year honor. From this list, the Naismith Awards Board of Selectors will identify the 10 national semifinalists, to be announced on Feb. 26. Then, four finalists will be revealed on March 14.
Fans will be able to support their favorite player by visiting naismithtrophy.com/vote between March 19-30 to cast their ballot, and the fan component counts for 5 percent of the overall final vote. The Citizen Naismith Trophy for Women's Player of the Year will be announced on March 31.

"It was challenging to narrow down the list of outstanding players to this team of 30," said Eric Oberman, executive director of the Atlanta Tipoff Club. "All of these women have shown immense talent, and we look forward to seeing them play in the final weeks of the regular season as they compete for the Citizen Naismith Trophy Women's College Player of the Year honor."

Hines-Allen averages 14.0 points, which ranks second on the team and 16th in the ACC, and 10.0 rebounds, which leads the ACC and ranks 25th in the country. She leads the ACC with 6.8 defensive rebounds per game. Her 261 total rebounds rank 15th in nation.

She is tied for the ACC lead with 12 double-doubles and has 8 double-doubles in her last 11 games. She has double-digit rebounds in nine of her last 11 games and has scored in double figures in 12 of 15.

Durr ranks second in the ACC and 36th in the country with 19.8 points per game. Her 20.8 points-per-game in ACC play lead the league. She had 27 points on 9-15 shooting, 5-9 from deep, and a career-high seven assists at Syracuse, 21 points on 9-18 shooting at Virginia and 26 points on 8-10 shooting, 3-5 from deep, vs. Wake Forest.

She is shooting 46.4 percent from deep (78-168), which leads the ACC and ranks fifth in the nation. Her 78 made 3-point field goals rank second in the ACC and 17th in the country. She is connecting on 3.1 3-pt field goals per game, which ranks second in the ACC and 21st in the NCAA. She has 20 double-digit scoring games this season, including 12 20-point games.

With the competition narrowing down to only 30 players, six conferences across the country are represented. The Pac-12 conference leads the late season team with seven players, and the SEC follows closely with six players on the team. UConn, which has won more Citizen Naismith Trophies (10) than any other school, continues to lead the competition with four players listed, followed by Louisville, Mississippi State, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas and UCLA with two candidates apiece.
