Louisville Ranked Fourth in USA Today Preseason Poll

The Cardinals open the season at No. 4, which marks highest preseason ranking in team history.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Louisville women's basketball opens the season rated No. 4 in the USA Today Coaches Poll, which marks the highest preseason ranking in program history.Â

The Cardinals received 687 points, just three points fewer than Oregon, who is rated No. 3. Prior to being ranked No. 4 this season, their highest ranking was No. 5 in 2013-14.

Defending national champion Notre Dame received 30 of 32 first place votes, with Connecticut picking up the other two votes. Oregon is picked third, while Baylor was picked fifth.

The Cardinals open the 2018-19 season on Tuesday, Nov. 6 with a road game at Western Kentucky at 8 p.m. Their home opener will be against Miami (Ohio) on Monday, Nov. 26 at 7 p.m. at the KFC Yum! Center.
