Championship Eight Finishes 24th at Head of the Charles

Club eight crew posts 11th-place finish
BOSTON – In their second consecutive appearance at the 54th Head of the Charles, the University of Louisville rowing team opened fall competition with an 11th-place finish in the club eight boat on Saturday, followed by a 24th-place finish by the championship eight boat on Sunday afternoon.
In Sunday's race, the Cardinals turned in a time of 19:24.466, placing them 22nd among all collegiate crews in the three-mile course. In the overall standings, USRowing took first with a time of 16:41.776, with Stanford turning in the top collegiate mark at 16:58.089.
On Saturday, the Cards made their debut in the club eight race, posting a time of 17:32.585 that ranked 10th in the collegiate standings with Yale taking the race with a first-place time of 17:10.341. The Cards were one of four ACC crews in the race, joining conference mates North Carolina, Syracuse and Boston College.
The Cards will now turn their attention to the upcoming Head of the Hooch regatta in Chattanooga, Tenn. on Saturday, Nov. 3.
