Walz, Durr to Represent Louisville at ACC Tipoff on Tuesday

Pair will appear in live Q&A Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. on ACC Network Extra
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – University of Louisville women's basketball will be well-represented at Tuesday's 2018 ACC Women's Basketball Tipoff as head coach Jeff Walz and senior guard Asia Durr will attend the event at the Sheraton/Le Méridien Charlotte.
Walz and Durr will join ESPN's Christy Thomaskutty for a live, 20-minute Q&A session at 11:30 a.m. The panel will be broadcast on ACC Network Extra and on theACC.com. The pair will also take part in various interviews and media opportunities with media personalities such as ESPN analysts Rebecca Lobo and Debbie Antonelli. In addition to the live streams, fans can follow along with the festivities by visiting the conference website and searching for #ACCTipoff on social media.
The Cardinals are looking to follow up their terrific 2017-18 campaign, in which they posted a program-best 36-3 record and ACC Tournament victory over eventual national champion Notre Dame before falling, 73-63, in overtime to Mississippi State at the Final Four. ACC Coach of the Year Walz returns four starters from last year's squad, led by Durr, the reigning ACC Player of the Year. Also named to the WBCA All-American First Team, Durr averaged 18.7 points per game with 108 3-point fields goals on 41.7 percent shooting from outside. Last month, she received the Women In Sports Honors (WISH) Athlete of the Year award from the Louisville Women's Sports Network. In the offseason, Walz led the USA U18 national team to a victory in the FIBA U18 Americas Women's Championship in Mexico City.
Louisville opens its season on Tuesday, Nov. 6 at Western Kentucky and will play their first five games on the road, including the Southpoint Shootout on Thanksgiving weekend in Las Vegas. The Cardinals will make their home debut on Monday, Nov. 26 against Miami (Ohio) and will host Connecticut, Kentucky, North Carolina and Duke among others at the KFC Yum! Center. Notable road opponents include Notre Dame, Florida State and Sweet 16 participant Central Michigan.
