LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Louisville women's golf team returns to action this week for its second tournament of the season, competing in the Golfweek Women's Conference Challenge from Monday through Wednesday in Vail, Colo.
The 18-team field begins action with a shotgun start on Monday on the par-72, 6,216-yard Fazio Course at the Red Sky Golf Club. Another highly competitive event for the Cardinals, seven participating teams finished last season ranked in Golfstat's top 50.
The Cardinals will utilize a lineup of Lauren Hartlage, Molly Skapik, Olivia Cason, Kristin Engle, and Jacqueline Twitty and are paired with Coastal Carolina and SMU in Monday's grouping.
Louisville opened the fall campaign with an impeccable performance, shooting the second-lowest tournament score in school history. The Cardinals tied for fifth at the Minnesota Invitational behind a 9-under-par 855. Earlier in the tournament, the team broke the school's single-round record with a 12-under-par 276.
Individually, Hartlage paced the team last week with a 7-under-par 209 to tie for fifth. It was the fifth top-five finish of her career. Skapik tied for 10th after logging a career-best 5-under-par 211. Cason rounded out the top three, climbing 24 spots the final day to tie for 24th.
Results will be available on Golfstat.com.
