
Five Players Earn ACC Softball Honors

Becker, McNary, Meyer, Pufahl selected to second team; Ferguson named to all-freshman team
Five University of Louisville softball players earned All-ACC honors as announced by the conference office Thursday. Seniors Maryssa Becker, Jordan McNary and Morgan Meyer and junior Nicole Pufahl were selected to the second team while Caitlin Ferguson was named to the all-freshman team in a vote determined by the league's 11 head coaches.Â

Becker (Medford, Ore.) earns All-ACC honors for the third straight season after posting a 10-4 record in the circle with a 3.40 ERA and 68 strikeouts in 92.2 innings of work. The four-year starter also hit .333 against league opponents with seven doubles, eight runs and 14 RBIs.

McNary, (Madisonville, Ky.) takes home her second All-ACC nod after hitting .353 in the conference season with 11 runs, four RBIs and six stolen bases. The four-year starting left fielder also boasted a perfect fielding percentage in conference play.

Meyer a right fielder from Louisville, Ky., posted a team-best .379 batting average and .419 on-base percentage against conference opponents. The three-year starter scored 12 runs and drove in six.

Pufahl (Moorpark, Calif.) is making her first appearance on the All-ACC team after batting .370 with eight doubles and six home runs for a .726 slugging percentage in league play. The centerfielder led the Cardinals with 18 RBIs against league opponents and registered a perfect fielding percentage.Â

Ferguson (Versailles, Ky.) had an impressive rookie season as Louisville's starting shortstop, producing a .302 batting average, 10 RBIs and seven runs in ACC play.

Second-seeded Louisville (31-18) will take on seventh-seeded NC State in the ACC quarterfinals Thursday at 5 p.m.
