Briahanna Jackson has earned all-academic team honors for two-consecutive seasons.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – University of Louisville women's basketball's Myisha Hines-Allen, Briahanna Jackson, and Cortnee Walton were named to the All-Atlantic Coast Conference Women's Basketball Academic Team, league commissioner John Swofford announced.
To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.0 grade-point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one's academic career. Athletic achievements during the most recent season are also considered in selecting the All-ACC Academic Team.
Hines-Allen, a sport administration major, earned Dean's List and athletic director's honor roll accolades in the fall. The junior made the all-academic team during her freshman season. A first-team Blue Ribbon Panel all-ACC selection, she is averaging 13.8 points and 9.2 rebounds and has collected 15 double-doubles this year.
Jackson, who graduates in the spring with a bachelor's degree in criminal justice, earned the all-academic team recognition in 2015-16. She secured Dean's List and athletic director's honor roll recognition during the fall as well. The redshirt senior has played in 26 games, contributing 6.5 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 4.5 assists.
Walton will finish her master's degree in sport administration this spring after graduating in the spring of 2015 with a degree in communication. This year, she was inducted into the Chi Alpha Sigma student-athlete honor society (eligible to juniors with at least a 3.4 cumulative grade-point average). She earned ACC honor roll accolades in 2014-15 and 2015-16. The Surprise, Ariz., native has tallied 2.9 points and 5.1 rebounds.
The ACC Honor Roll, which recognizes all conference student-athletes with a grade point average of 3.0 for the current academic year, will be released in July.
