Men's Tennis Hits the Road to Face Indiana

Cards will travel to Bloomington for a midweek matchup
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville men's tennis team will travel to Bloomington, Ind. to take on Indiana University Wednesday, Feb. 8 at 6:00 p.m.

"We are excited about continuing the rivalry with the Hoosiers," said UofL head coach Rex Ecarma. "We have played Indiana probably more than any other team in the last decade. Many of those matches were true battles and I expect nothing less tomorrow."

The Cardinals (4-2) are coming off of three-match home stand last weekend. They opened the weekend with with a 7-0 win over Alabama A&M and followed with a 4-3 decision against Purdue. On Sunday Louisville fell 7-0 to No. 1 Virginia in its ACC opener.

About Louisville
The Cardinals are led by freshman Parker Wynn (North Richland Hills, Texas) who carries a 21-6 overall singles record and is 5-1 in dual matches playing mostly at No. 2.

Sophomore Christopher Morin-Kougoucheff (Capbreton, France) holds down the No. 1 spot in singles and has tallied a 14-6 mark while going 3-1 in dual matches.

Sophomore Brandon Lancaster (Louisville, Ky.) carries a 16-6 overall record and is 5-1 in dual matches mostly playing the No. 5 position.

Senior Sean Donohue (Louisville, Ky.) leads the Cards in doubles with a 15-4 overall record and has paired with Wynn for a 9-1 mark.

Head Coach Rex Ecarma is in his 27th season at UofL and has compiled a 427-285 overall record.

Up Next: Louisville will return to the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center on Feb. 14 when the Cardinals play host to Austin Peay at 12 p.m. and Illinois State at 6 p.m.

Scouting the Hoosiers: Indiana brings a 6-0 record into the match. The Hoosiers are coming off a 5-2 win over Princeton. The weekend prior, Indiana took matches over Ball State, Eastern Illinois, and Illinois-Chicago with scores of 5-2, 7-0 and 7-0 respectively. The Hoosiers only boast two seniors, Stefan Lugonjic and Matthew McCoy, on their roster. McCoy leads the team with a 10-4 singles record and a 3-0 dual match record this season.
