
No. 12 Women’s Basketball Faces Boston College at Home on Sunday

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The No. 12 University of Louisville women's basketball, playing its third game in seven days before a week break, faces Boston College on Sunday in the KFC Yum! Center at 3 p.m.
The Feb. 12 game is being broadcast on Regional Sports Networks (Fox Sports South in Louisville), with Evan Lepler (play-by-play) and LaChina Robinson (analyst) calling the action. Louisville's radio broadcast can be heard on WKRD 790 AM, featuring Nick Curran (play-by-play) and Adrienne Johnson (analyst).
Louisville (21-6, 8-4 ACC) broke out of a two-game slump with an 88-70 victory at Virginia Tech on Thursday. The Cardinals shot a season-best 57.8 percent from the floor, scoring 48 points in the paint. Louisville held a 48-27 rebounding advantage and logged 14 points off turnovers.
Asia Durr scored a game-high 30 points, 21 in the second half, on 12-of-18 shooting. She is the first player to have consecutive 30-point performances – she had 31 at Notre Dame – since Angel McCoughtry achieved the feat in 2009.
Myisha Hines-Allen (13 points, 13 rebounds), Mariya Moore (17 points, 11 assists), and Sam Fuehring (11 points, 11 rebounds) each recorded double-doubles. It is the first time the feat has been accomplished since 2009. Angel McCoughtry, Candyce Bingham, and Dez Byrd each earned a double-double against Syracuse on Feb. 3.
This season, Durr is pacing the Cardinals in scoring at 17.9 points per game and has a team-leading 85 3-pointers, fourth most nationally. Moore is contributing 13.4 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 4.6 assists. Hines-Allen also is averaging double figures, with 12.8 points to go with 8.8 rebounds.
Boston College (9-16, 2-10) snapped its 10-game losing streak last time out, beating North Carolina on the road 88-77 on Thursday. The Eagles connected on 15-of-24 3-pointers, including 11 of 15 in the second half, and outrebounded the Tar Heels 49-31. North Carolina, which shot just 37.3 percent, forced 22 Boston College turnovers.
Kelly Hughes scored a team-high 24 points in the victory, while Taylor Ortlepp registered 19 on 6-of-11 shooting. Hughes and Ortlepp combined to hit 12 3-pointers. Mariella Fasoula tallied 13 points, and Emma Guy had a double-double of 11 points and 10 rebounds. Jamie Cherry scored a game-best 31 points for North Carolina.
This season, Fasoula is pacing Boston College in scoring (16.0) and rebounding (7.4), with a team-leading 30 blocks. Hughes is producing 12.0 points and has connected on a team-best 67 3-pointers. Georgia Pineau leads the Eagles with 74 assists.
Collectively, Boston College ranks in the sixth in the conference in field goal percentage and blocked shots per game and 62nd nationally in assists per game.
SERIES HISTORY – Boston College vs. Louisville
Louisville holds a 3-1 series advantage against Boston College after winning the past three meetings.
In last season's matchup, Louisville forced 21 turnovers for 16 points and earned a 55-45 victory over Boston College on Feb. 21, 2016, in Chestnut Hill, Mass. The Cardinals outrebounded the Eagles 35-27 and stifled Boston College to 35.3 percent shooting.
Myisha Hines-Allen finished with a game-high 18 points and seven rebounds. Asia Durr came off the bench and scored 14, while Cortnee Walton tallied 12 points and nine rebounds.
In Louisville's first year in the ACC, the Cardinals posted a 77-60 decision over the Eagles on Feb. 26, 2015, in the KFC Yum! Center. Mariya Moore had 18 points off the bench, and Bria Smith totaled 11 points and seven steals.
