
No. 4 Women's Basketball Hosts SEC Foe Vanderbilt on Thursday

The Cardinals and Commodores will tip off at 7 p.m. ET.
UofL's 9-0 start marks the second best start in program history. They have opened five of the past six seasons with at least a 7-0 start, starting 8-0 in 2012-13 and 2014-15. Their best ever start is 15-0 in 2006-07. That season, they finished the year at 27-8 and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
Senior Myisha Hines-Allen led the way with 16 points and eight rebounds in the win over the Skyhawks. She shot 7-of-10 from the floor.Â
Her 10.1 rebounds per game ranks second in the ACC and 38th in the country. She leads the ACC with 7.0 defensive rebounds per game. Her 91 total rebounds through eight games rank 17th in the nation. She is third all-time in program history with 7.8 rebounds per game and 869 career rebounds.
Junior Arica Carter finished the game with 10 points, five rebounds and four assists. She had 14 points in the win over South Dakota State on Sunday and has scored double-figure points in back-to-back games for the first time in her career.
She leads the team with 27.6 minutes per game and has started every game.
Louisville recorded a season-high 10 blocks in the win over UT Martin, led by sophomore Kylee Shook's season-high four. The 10 blocks marks the most in the Jeff Walz era. The previous high was nine, which has happened four times, most recently vs. Pittsburgh on Jan. 4, 2015.Â
The school-record for blocks in a game is 13 against Kentucky State on Jan. 25, 1984.
ABOUT THE COMMODORES
Vanderbilt is off to a 3-6 start this season and has won their last two games. On Sunday, they downed Iowa State, 77-74, in the Big 12/SEC Challenge.
Seniors Rachel Bell and Christa Reed are both moving closer to the 1,000-point milestone. Bell sits just 51 points from the milestone, while Reed is 177 points away from 1,000.
Bell leads the team with 13.7 points per game and 19 made 3-pointers. She is shooting 42 percent from deep. Freshman Chelsea Hall ranks second on the team with 13.0 points per game, while pulling down 4.1 rebounds. Reed is the third Commodore averaging double figures with 10.1 points.
As a team, Vandy is shooting 39 percent from deep, which ranks 33rd in the country and their 67 3-point field goals made ranks 32nd.
This will be Vanderbilt's first time at the KFC Yum! Center.
