Coach Sandy Pearsall has announced the addition of five signees
University of Louisville softball head coach Sandy Pearsall has announced that five newcomers have signed National Letters-of-Intent to join the Cardinals to compete in the 2018-19 season.

"We are excited to welcome these five outstanding student-athletes to the Louisville Softball family," said Pearsall. "We know that each one of them will be impactful players for our program. We're looking forward to having them at the University of Louisville and we know they will continue to grow and help our program compete at the highest level."Â

Charley Butler
Position: Utility
Hometown: Randleman, N.C.
High School: Randleman
Travel Team: Randolph Knockouts

Butler joins the Cardinals from Randleman, North Carolina, where she has played for Randlemanl for four years and helped her team win back-to-back PAC-6 Conference Championships.
Â
She was a three-time all-conference selection as an infielder and earned her team's Defensive Player of the Year award. The multi-sport athlete was also a three-time all-county selection in basketball and lettered two years in volleyball.
Â
In addition to her athletic accomplishments, Butler is a member of the National Honor Society and has completed more than 80 hours of service as a member of the Beta Club.
Â
Butler also plays for the Randolph Knockouts travel team which won the WFC Summer Nationals in 2014.

Cassady Greenwood
Position: C
Hometown: Birmingham, Ala.
High School: Oak Mountain
Travel Team: Birmingham Thunderbolts 98

Greenwood joins the Cardinals from Birmingham, Alabama, where she is a five-year letterwinner for Oak Mountain High School and helped her team to three-straight regional appearances as well as the 2016 all-area title. The catcher was a 2017 all-state selection and was named to the all-OTM team by the Over-the-Mountain Journal. She is all-area and all-county honoree who has registered a .317 career batting average with 56 RBIs and 24 runs as she enters her senior season at Oak Mountain. She also lettered in basketball for four years.

Her success carries over to the classroom and extracurricular activities as a member of the A/B honor roll and the vice president of the Spanish Club.

In addition to her high school team, Greenwood is also a member of the Birmingham Thunderbolts 98 travel team.

High School: East Carter

Mayo joins the Cardinals from Grayson, Kentucky and has played for East Carter High School since the seventh grade. The second baseman has helped her team to back-to-back 16th Region Championships and state tournament appearances. In 2016, the Lady Raiders registered a 34-0 record during the regular season and a No. 3 national ranking according to MaxPreps.

The second team all-state selection is a three-time all-region honoree and was named to the all-district tournament team. She was tabbed East Carter's Lady Raider of the Year and was her team's Defensive Player of the Year for three consecutive seasons.

While playing for the Beverly Bandits, Mayo helped her travel team to a 2016 Premier Girls Fastpitch (PGF) national championship as well as the Triple Crown national title.

Roby joins the Cardinals from Mt. Washington, Kentucky, where she has played softball for five years at Bullitt East. The right-handed pitcher was named the Metro Louisville Softball Player of the Year and Sixth Region Player of the Year after going 23-5 with a 1.15 ERA to go along with 217 strikeouts in 176 innings of work. She also registered a .590 batting average with 14 home runs and 50 RBIs.

Roby is also a three-time first-team all-state and all-region selection and is a four-time all-district honoree. She earned 2016 MaxPreps All-American and Courier-Journal Player of the Year honors in 2016 after batting .590 with 15 home runs, 18 doubles and 50 RBIs. She complemented her offensive numbers with a 1.10 ERA and 220 strikeouts in the circle.

While playing for the Louisville Sluggers 18U, she helped her team go undefeated in the USA Softball Junior Olympic Cup to win the championship. As a member of the Southern Force Carroll travel team, Roby collected an Amateur Softball Association (ASA) 'A' national title in 2016.Â

Wilbur comes to Louisville from Sugar Hill, Ga., and has played softball for four years at North Gwinnett High School, helping to lead the Bulldogs to the 2016 state title and 2017 regional championship. The infielder is a three-time all-region and all-county selection was named to the 2015 all-state second team. During her senior season, she earned all-region and all-county honors and was chosen to play in the all-star game.
