
Durr, Hines-Allen named to Wade and Naismith Award Watch List

A list of the midseason 30 team will be released on Feb. 12, 2018.
ATLANTA – Senior Myisha Hines-Allen and junior Asia Durr have been named to the Wade Trophy and Women's Citizen Naismith Trophy Watch Lists, as announced by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association and Atlanta Tipoff Club.

The Wade Trophy — now in its 41st year — is the oldest and most prestigious national player of the year award in college women's basketball. It is named in honor of the late, legendary Delta State University head coach Lily Margaret Wade, who won three consecutive national championships with the Lady Statesmen. First awarded in 1978 by the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (AAHPERD), now known as SHAPE America, the Wade Trophy has been presented to the WBCA NCAA Division I National Player of the Year since 2001.

The Naismith Trophy Preseason Watch List includes 50 of the top women's collegiate basketball players who will be in the conversation for the prestigious honor. Named in honor of Dr. James Naismith, inventor of the game of basketball, the Naismith Trophy recognizes the top Men's and Women's College Basketball Players of the Year.

Durr and Hines-Allen continue to rack up accolades as both were named John Wooden Award Preseason Top 30, espnW Top 25, WNIT All-Tournament Team, and preseason All-ACC.

Durr was also named preseason All-American by several publications, ACC Preseason Player of the Year, Ann Meyers Drysdale Award Watch List, ACC Player of the Week on Nov. 13 and espnW Player of the Week on Nov. 20. Hines-Allen was named to the Katrina McClain Award Watch List, WNIT Most Valuable Player and ACC Player of the Week on Nov. 20.

Hines-Allen ranks ninth all-time at Louisville in scoring with 1,563 points, just 14 points behind Sharon Bellamy for 8th. She is 611 points behind Shoni Schimmel for second place. Durr is 20th all-time with 1,149 points. She is the fifth player in program history to score 1,000 points within their first two years at Louisville.

Hines-Allen has three double-doubles in six games this season, which is tied for 24th in the country. She averages a double-double with 13.5 points and 11.3 rebounds. She is third on the school's all-time list with 32 double-doubles, one shy of tying Jazz Covington for second on Louisville's all-time list.

Durr's 20 three-point field goals made this season rank 27th in the nation. With 115 points through six games, she ranks 58th in the country and her 19.2 points per game rank 62nd. For her career, she has connected on 183 3-pointers, which ranks seventh on the school's all-time list.
Louisville returns to action this Thursday at 8 p.m. ET when they travel to face Indiana in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge.
