
No. 5 Women's Basketball to Host No. 24 Michigan in WNIT Semifinals

Louisville advanced to the semifinals by downing Toledo, 90-55, on Tuesday night. With the win, UofLÂ moves to 6-0 all-time in the Preseason WNIT after claiming the 2013 title.
Senior Myisha Hines-Allen and sophomore Jazmine Jones led the way in the win as they finished with identical double-doubles, recording 17 points and 10 rebounds. It marked the 31st double-double of Hines-Allen's career, which ranks third in program history, while it was Jones' first as a Cardinal.
Through three games, both players have filled up the stat sheet. Hines-Allen is averaging 12.3 points, 12.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists, while shooting 53 percent from the floor. Jones is averaging 13.0 points, 7.3 rebounds, 3.7 assists, while shooting 60 percent.
Coming off her 47-point performance, junior Asia Durr knocked down her first two three-point attempts and finished with 14 points and four rebounds.
She is averaging a team-high 23.0 points, while shooting 13-of-24 from three-point range, which is good for just over 54 percent.
Last season, Michigan finished the season with a 28-9 record, 11-5 in Big 10 play, and downed Georgia Tech 89-79 in triple overtime to claim the postseason WNIT championship.
Michigan opened the AP poll at No. 24, marking the first time since 2001 that they have been listed in the preseason AP poll.
With 2,167 career points, senior Katelynn Flaherty is only nine points away from passing Diane Dietz to become the program leader in scoring. In their 74-50 win over Liberty, she led a quartet of double-figure scorers, finishing with a game-high 20 points, including a 10-for-10 showing from the free throw line.
Junior Hallie Thome averaged 16.2 points, 7.1 rebounds and 2.0 blocks in 29.8 minutes per game last year, becoming the third sophomore in program history to reach the 1,000-point plateau.
Series History:Â Louisville is 2-1 all-time against Michigan, but the teams have not squared off since 1980.
