Sophomore Clement Filho picks up a singles win on day one
Sophomore Clement Filho led the University of Louisville men's tennis team on day one of Notre Dame's Bobby Bayliss Invitational Friday at Notre Dame's Eck Tennis Pavilion.

"It was good for Clement to get a win today," said UofL assistant coach Jakob Gustafsson. "He has been struggling the first few weeks back, but after an adjustment period today he started finding his own. He is a tough player and I believe he can get on a roll now"

After losing his first set to Notre Dame's Daniel Ray 6-4, Filho (Paris, France) rebounded to win the next two sets 6-4 and 6-2.

In other singles action, junior Brandon Lancaster fell 6-2, 6-1 to Indiana's Brandon Lam and senior Ciro Lampasas lost to Notre Dame's Nate Griffin 7-5, 7-5.

In doubles, the Irish duo of Ray and Griffin teamed to beat Lampasas and Lancaster 6-4.

The Bobby Bayliss Invitational will continue Saturday at 9:30 a.m.
