No. 9 Women’s Basketball Takes on Georgia Tech on Wednesday

The Cardinals and Yellow Jackets play on Wednesday on ACC Network Extra at 7 p.m.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The No. 9 University of Louisville women's basketball team takes on Georgia Tech on Wednesday, the Cardinals' final home game in January, in the KFC Yum! Center at 7 p.m.
The Jan. 18 game will be broadcast on ACC Network Extra, with Don Russell (play-by-play) and Sara White (analyst) calling the action. Louisville's radio broadcast can be heard on WKRD 790 AM, featuring Nick Curran (play-by-play) and Adrienne Johnson (analyst).
Louisville (16-4, 4-2) is coming off its third victory over a ranked opponent this season, defeating No. 14 Miami 63-59 on Sunday. The Cardinals connected on 10-of-14 free throws and outrebounded the Hurricanes 46-31, grabbing 20 boards on the offensive end.
Mariya Moore scored a game-high 24 points, giving her double digits in all six conference games this year, to go with seven rebounds. Myisha Hines-Allen recorded her eighth double-double of the year behind a 10-point, 11-rebound effort. Briahanna Jackson chipped in with 11 points, five rebounds, four assists, and three steals.
Asia Durr is pacing the team in scoring at 17.1 points per game, with a team-high 64 3-pointers that ranks fourth nationally. Hines-Allen is contributing 13.0 points and 9.3 rebounds, and Moore is averaging 12.8 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 4.3 assists. Jackson has team highs of 91 assists and 35 steals.
Georgia Tech (13-4, 2-2) dropped its first two conference games of the season before collecting wins consecutively against Boston College and No. 24 Syracuse.
The Yellow Jackets, despite 27 turnovers, connected on 25 of 39 free throws to upset the Orange on Sunday. Georgia Tech outrebounded Syracuse 58-37 and held the Orange to 7 of 41 from 3-point range.
Kaylan Pugh had a team-high 28 points, scoring 12 at the free throw line, to go with 13 rebounds. Fellow starter Zaire O'Neil totaled 13 points, and Francesca Pan had 11 points and four rebounds. Alexis Peterson scored 29 points in the loss for Syracuse.
This season, Pugh - who only has played in six games - is averaging team highs of 13.3 points and 5.8 rebounds. Pan, the reigning ACC Freshman of the Week, is producing 11.2 points and has hit 31 3-pointers. O'Neil is contributing 10.8 points, and Imani Tilford ranks first on the team with 50 assists and 43 steals.
Collectively, Georgia Tech ranks in the top-20 nationally in offensive rebounds per game (No. 14), free throw attempts (No. 16), and field goal percentage defense (No. 20).
SERIES HISTORY – Georgia Tech vs. Louisville
Louisville and Georgia Tech have met only three times in series history, with the Cardinals holding a 3-0 lead.
Last year, Louisville defeated Georgia Tech in Atlanta 78-65 during the regular season and then 60-50 in Greensboro in the ACC Tournament.
In the postseason victory, the Cardinals held the Yellow Jackets to 31.1 percent shooting, while converting 15 of 17 free throw attempts.
Myisha Hines-Allen had 22 points on 10-of-20 shooting and 13 rebounds. Mariya Moore added 11 points, and Cortnee Walton pulled down 11 rebounds.
