Abbey Weitzeil sets U.S. Open record for the win
Kelsi Worrell was eighth in the 100-free with her third fastest time ever of 54.06 Friday night at the U.S. Olympic Trials in Omaha, Neb. Â
She went out fast and was third at the first turn, making an early charge but suffered a difficult last 15 meters. Winner Abbey Weitzeil earned a berth in Rio with a 53.28, a new U.S. Open Record, just ahead Simone Manuel posted a 53.52.
American record holder Amanda Weir finished third in 53.75, good for a spot on the relay. Lia Neal fourth, going 53.77.
