LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Summer session is underway, and while many students are spending time away from school, members of the University of Louisville women's basketball team are getting a jumpstart on their college careers.
The 12 Cardinals currently on campus resumed or started classes this week and also began workouts with the coaching staff and the sports performance staff.

With half of the team on campus being made up of newcomers, the group has primarily focused shooting drills and a plethora of conditioning exercises. Ultimately, the goal is to get the freshmen acclimated to the environment and also integrate them with the rest of the team.
Away from the court and the classroom, the coaching staff also is spending time concentrating on team chemistry and building relationships.
