Cards go 2-2 in ACC/Big Ten Softball Challenge
RALEIGH, N.C.- The University of Louisville softball team fell 3-0 to Nebraska in its final game of the ACC/Big Ten Softball Challenge Sunday at NC State's Dail Stadium.
The Huskers (8-1) broke open a scoreless game in the third inning behind Cassie McClure's two-run double. A one-out hit by Laura Barrow and a two-out error allowed Alicia Armstrong to reach resulting in both runs being unearned.
Nebraska added another run in the fifth when AJ Knighten drew a one-out walk and moved to third on a single by Armstrong who took second on the throw. With runners on second and third and one out in the inning, junior Maryssa Becker took the circle in relief of freshman Megan Hensley and got McClure to groundout to shortstop Brittany Sims for the second out of the inning, but Knighten came home on the play to make the score 3-0.
