Men's Tennis Travels to Middle Tennessee

Cards take on Blue Raiders Wednesday at 3:30 p.m.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville men's tennis team will travel to Murfreesboro, Tenn., for a midweek matchup against Middle Tennessee State on Wednesday.

"We know it will be a tough match," said UofL head coach Rex Ecarma. "It has been seven or eight years since we have been to Murfreesboro and they will be ready for us."

About Louisville: The Cardinals enter the match with a 3-3 overall record. Louisville has been idle since the ITA Kick-Off Weekend which took place Jan. 23-24. In the opening round, the Cards fell 4-0 to Memphis and lost a close 4-3 decision to UC Santa Barbara in the consolation match.

• Louisville stands at No. 45 in the most recent Intercollegiate Tennis Association team rankings released on January 27. Senior Alex Gornet is No. 108 in the singles rankings and teams will fellow senior Jeffrey Brown to appear at No. 57 nationally in doubles.
• The Cardinals are led by senior Alex Gornet (Louisville, Ky.) who carries a 15-7 overall record and is 3-1 as Louisville's No. 1 player. Freshman Brandon Lancaster (Louisville, Ky.) follows with a 14-4 mark and is 1-1 in dual matches.
• Fellow freshman Courtney Lock (Harare, Zimbabwe) is 4-0 in dual matches and became Louisville's first ACC Men's Tennis Player of the Week on January 19.
• Seniors Alex Gornet and Jeffrey Brown (Mandeville, La.) lead the Cards in doubles with a 9-7 overall record and a 3-2 mark at No. 1. The duo has been ranked as high as No. 35 in the national doubles standings.
