
Durr, Hines-Allen, Moore Named to Wooden Award Preseason Top 30

Louisville is the only school nationally to have three players on the preseason list.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – University of Louisville women's basketball's Asia Durr, Myisha Hines-Allen, and Mariya Moore recently were named to the John R. Wooden Award Women's Preseason Top 30.
Louisville is the only school to have three players on the prestigious list, which was compiled by women's college basketball national media members. The Atlantic Coast Conference boasts 10 selections, the most of any league in the country.
The trio have combined to account for 39.8 points, 14.6 rebounds, 7.5 assists, and 3.1 steals per game.
Durr, through 13 games, is leading the Cardinals in scoring at 17.4 per game. She is hitting 45.2 percent of her shots and ranks second nationally with 46 3-pointers. The sophomore also has tallied 12 assists.
Hines-Allen, the reigning and preseason ACC Player of the Year, is contributing 11.2 points and 8.0 rebounds. The junior, who has two double-doubles this season, is shooting 48.9 percent and has totaled 16 steals.
Fellow junior, Moore is producing 11.2 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 4.1 assists. She has connected on 78.0 percent (32 of 41) of her free throws and collected 12 steals.
Players not chosen to the preseason list are eligible for the midseason list, the late-season list, and the national ballot, which consists of the 15 top players who have proven to their universities that they are also making progress toward graduation and maintaining at least a cumulative 2.0 grade-point average. The Wooden Award All American Team, consisting of the nation's top five players, will be announced the week of the Final Four.
The 41st annual presentation of the John R. Wooden Award® to the men's and women's most outstanding basketball player will be the anchor presentation of the ESPN College Basketball Awards Show presented by Wendy's® on ESPN2 on Friday, April 7, 2017. The men's and women's John R. Wooden Award All-American Teams will be honored during the ceremony.
