
Field Hockey Welcomes Allison Bitting

Allison Bitting will join the Cardinals in the fall of 2017
University of Louisville head field hockey coach Justine Sowry has announced that Allison Bitting has signed a National Letter of Intent to play for the Cardinals starting in the fall of 2017. She is one of eight newcomers expected to join the UofL field hockey program, with the others to be announced in the upcoming weeks.

Hometown: Â Hummelstown, Pa.
High School: Lower Dauphin HS
Club Team: PA Mavericks

Bitting comes to Louisville from Hummelstown, Pa., where she was a three-year varsity starter for Lower Dauphin High School. During her senior season, the team captain helped lead her squad to a Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA) Class 3A semifinal appearance. She is a two-time Mid-Penn All-Star first team selection(2015 and 2016) as well as a 2015 Pennsylvania High School Field Hockey Coaches Association AAA All-State First Team pick. As a junior, she earned Max Field Hockey All-Region PennLive All Star honors. She helped the 2014 Lower Dauphin squad to the Keystone Division, and Mid-Penn Championship as well as the PIAA District 3 AAA title.

She also played for the PA Mavericks field hockey club from 2012-16 and competed in four USA Futures National Championships while helping her team win the NIT Pool B U19 crown. Bitting is currently a member of the Nook Field Hockey Club team.
