
Durr, Hines-Allen, Moore Named to Naismith Trophy Preseason Watch List

Louisville’s three selections are tied for the most in the ACC and tied for second-most nationally.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Louisville women's basketball's Asia Durr, Myisha Hines-Allen, and Mariya Moore are three of the 50 players nationally who have been named to the Naismith Trophy Women's 50 preseason watch list, the Atlanta Tipoff Club announced Wednesday.
A sophomore, Durr is averaging a team-high 18.7 points on 53.3 percent shooting. The Douglasville, Ga., native has connected on 50 percent of her 3-pointers, knocking down 28 through seven games. She has scored in double figures in six contests this season, including a career-best 34 against Bowling Green. She logged 12 field goals that game, including eight from 3-point range. She also is averaging 1.0 steals per game.
Hines-Allen, the reigning and preseason ACC Player of the Year, is producing 8.9 points and 8.6 rebounds per game. She also has tallied 18 assists and nine steals through seven games. Three times this year, the junior has pulled down double-digit rebounds, including a double-double of 12 points and 10 boards to open the season against UT Martin.
Moore, also a junior, is second on the team in scoring at 12.9 points per game. She leads the Cardinals in both assists (29) and free throws (21). The Hercules, Calif., native, has dished out at least six assists on four occasions this season. Moore had a star-studded performance against Middle Tennessee. She tallied a season-best 27 points on 9-of-14 shooting to go with six boards.
Both Hines-Allen and Moore joined the school's 1,000-point club earlier this season, becoming the 26th and 27th players, respectively, to achieve the plateau.
The midseason list of 30 will be announced February 8, 2017.
No. 7 Louisville (6-1) returns to action on Thursday, when it faces No. 5 Maryland (6-0) in the KFC Yum! Center as part of the ACC/Big Ten Challenge. Tip is set for 7 p.m. ET.
