Hines-Allen Named AP Preseason All-America Honorable Mention

Myisha Hines-Allen was named an Associated Press All-America honorable mention.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – University of Louisville women's basketball Myisha Hines-Allen was named an Associated Press All-America honorable mention on Thursday.
The reigning and preseason Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Year, Hines-Allen is coming off one of the best seasons for an individual in program history. On her way to becoming the school's second league player of the year, she averaged 17.6 points on 54.7 percent shooting and 8.4 rebounds. She also shot 80.0 percent from the charity stripe and tallied 36 steals.
The junior, Hines-Allen enters the 2016-17 campaign 17 points shy of reaching 1,000 for her career. Currently, she is third in career field goal percentage (.551) and tied for 14th with 12 double-doubles, totaling 11 last season.
Fans can get their first glimpse of the Cardinals, who are ranked fifth in the AP preseason poll, on Sunday in an exhibition against Lindsey Wilson. Admission is free and tip at the KFC Yum! Center is set for 2 p.m.
The program officially opens the season at UT Martin on Nov. 11 before playing its home opener against Belmont on Nov. 13.
