Senior Sean Donohue picks up his fourth win of the weekend
The University of Louisville men's tennis team wrapped up play at Notre Dame's Bobby Bayliss Invitational on Sunday afternoon.
Â
"It was a long weekend for these guys," said assistant coach Jakob Gustafsson. "They learned a lot of what needs to be done to succeed and I saw efforts and improvements in these areas. We now need to stay committed to the process and work hard in practice. It was great to see Sean finish well after a physical day Saturday. His experience shone through today."
Â
Senior Sean Donohue (Louisville, Ky.) defeated Marquette's Nick Dykema 6-4, 6-2 for his fourth win of the weekend.
Â
In other singles action, freshman Clement Filho fell 6-4, 6-2 to Wisconsin's John Zordani and sophomore Brandon Lancaster lost a 6-3, 6-4 decision against Marquette's Luke Smrek.
Â
In doubles, the duo of Lancaster and Filho fell 8-1 to Notre Dame's Brendan Small and Johnathan Kempin while Wisconsin's Chase Colton and Chema Carranza defeated Donohue and sophomore George Hedley 8-3.
Â
The Cardinals will return to action Oct. 15-16 when they host the Louisville Fall Invitational at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.
