Parker Wynn finishes tournament with 4-1 record
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The University of Louisville's Parker Wynn advanced to the quarterfinals and finished the tournament with a 4-1 singles record as the Cardinals' men's tennis team concluded play at the 2016 ITA Ohio Valley Regional Championship on Saturday.
"Parker once more showed that he is one of the top freshmen in all of college tennis," said UofL assistant coach Jakob Gustafsson. "He started the day off strong, but ran out of gas in the second match to a quality opponent. Pieces of the puzzle are starting to come together, it was great to see Ciro finish the weekend with a quality win. His hard work is paying off."

Wynn opened the day with a 4-6, 6-4, 6-4 win over Jan Pallares from Memphis in the round of 16 to set up a quarterfinal match against Kentucky's 28th seeded Buck Pennington. After winning four straight singles matches in the 128-player field, the UofL freshman fell 6-1, 6-3.

In consolation singles action, junior Ciro Lampasas defeated IUPUI's Brad Luetschwager 6-4, 6-3 and No. 42 Luis Valero of Tennessee 3-6, 7-5, 11-9. Sophomore George Hedley fell 2-6, 6-0, 12-10 and senior Sean Donohue lost 6-3, 5-7, 12-10 battle against Indiana's Oliver Sec.
