Team Notes:
- The Cardinals have won eight-consecutive games after the victory over Virginia Tech. It's their longest win streak since last season, when they ripped off nine straight wins from Dec. 15, 2014 to Jan. 18, 2015.
- Louisville improves to 80-10 all-time in the KFC Yum! Center after the victory over Virginia Tech.
- With the win, the Cardinals have won 22-consecutive home games in the month of January dating back to the 2009-10 season.
- Louisville tied the season series with Virginia Tech at 17 apiece. The Cardinals have won both games the past two years since the teams have been ACC foes.
- Louisville dished out 10 assists to extend its streak of double-digit assists to 16 games to start the season.
- The Cardinals limited the Hokies to five points in the opening quarter. It was the lowest point total they have given up in any quarter this season, surpassing the six points they let up in the first quarter against Florida State.
- The five points for the Hokies matches a season low they set in the fourth quarter in their win over Furman.
- Louisville scored 56 points against the Hokies, its fewest in a win since last season when it scored 48 in the victory over Pittsburgh on Feb. 8, 2015.
- Louisville was very active in the passing lanes tonight, forcing 21 turnovers. It's the 10th game this season forcing 20 or more.
- The Cardinals had 11 steals in the victory, their 10th game this season with double digit thefts.
- Louisville continued to be active on the offensive glass with 15 offensive rebounds, its ninth-consecutive and 13th out of the last 14 with 10 or more.
- Virginia Tech had 21 turnovers and only 16 made field goals. It is the eight time this season an opponent had more turnovers than made shots.
Player Notes:
- With the lay-up at the 0:14 mark in the fourth quarter, junior Briahanna Jackson surpassed the 1,000 point plateau for her career. She finished the game with 13 points and three assists.
- Myisha Hines-Allen tallied 18 points and 10 rebounds for her fourth double-double on the season and fifth of her career.
- Mariya Moore hauled in seven rebounds for the second consecutive game, tying a season high.
- Sophomore Arica Carter recorded her first two blocks on the season, tying a career high she set last season against Syracuse on Jan. 29, 2015.
- Cortnee Walton was dominant on the boards again, bringing in double-digit rebounds for the fifth time this season after grabbing 11 against the Hokies.
- Freshman Asia Durr provided a spark off the bench once again, scoring in double figures for the seventh time this season after the 10-point performance against the Hokies.
