Team Notes:
- With the victory, Louisville improved to 4-0 when playing on New Year's Day. The Cardinals defeated DePaul 87-77 on Jan. 1, 1999; Cincinnati 72-58 on Jan. 1, 2001; and, Temple 77-68 on Jan. 1, 2014.
- Louisville improves to 79-10 all-time in the KFC Yum! Center after the victory over Florida State.
- With the win, the Cardinals have won 21 consecutive home games in the month of January dating back to the 2009-10 season.
- Louisville is now 13-14 all-time against Florida State, this being the first win against the Seminoles as ACC foes.
- The Cardinals improve to 2-1 this season against AP Top-25 teams after the win over #15 Florida State. They beat No. 18 Michigan State on the road on Dec. 3.
- Louisville dished out 17 assists to extend its streak of double-digit assists to 14 games to start the season.
- The Cardinals limited Florida State to six points in the opening quarter. It was the lowest point total for the Seminoles in any quarter this season, and the lowest point total the Cardinals have given up in any quarter this season.
- Louisville was very active in the passing lanes, forcing 24 turnovers. It's the ninth game this season forcing 20 or more turnovers.
- The 24 turnovers turned into 14 steals for the Cardinals, their ninth time this season with double digit thefts.
- Louisville continued to be active on the offensive glass with 16 offensive rebounds, their 10th out of the last 11 games reaching double digits.
- The Cardinals set a season high in second-chance points, when they turned 15 offensive rebounds into 24 points.
Player Notes:
- Myisha Hines-Allen reached double figures in scoring for the 12th-consecutive game and tallied a career-high three blocks.
- Mariya Moore had her third-consecutive game with eight assists or more. She now has 29 assists over her last three games after totaling eight against Florida State, nine versus UT Martin on Dec. 28, and a career-best 12 against College of Charleston on Dec. 20.
- Moore also totaled 20 points against the Seminoles, her fourth game this season with 20 or more.
- Sophomore Arica Carter set a career high with 11 points in the win over Florida State.
- Cortnee Walton recorded her fourth game this season with double-digit rebounds after bringing in a team-high 11 in the win over the Seminoles.
- Walton has pulled down more than five offensive rebounds on five occasions after totaling eight against the Seminoles.
- Briahanna Jackson reached double figures in points for the seventh-consecutive game, finishing with 15 points, six rebounds, four assists, and four steals.
- Freshman Asia Durr tied a season high in steals with three in the win over Florida State.
