Women's Basketball Hosts Successful Golf Event

The Cardinals’ third annual golf classic featured 108 golfers.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – A term that is becoming synonymous with Louisville women's basketball is success.
That's how the 108 participants and the Cardinals viewed Monday's third annual golf classic at Fuzzy Zoeller's Covered Bridge Golf Club in Sellersburg, Ind. The event started with registration at 11 a.m. followed by lunch and then a shotgun start for 12:30 p.m. Head coach Jeff Walz, who described the event as the best attended in program history, introduced the 2015-16 team to the golfers that includes All-Americans Mariya Moore and Myisha Hines-Allen and the nation's No. 1 recruiting class. Before the end of the day, attendees had opportunities to take part in a silent auction that featured many highly-sought items. All proceeds from the classic will be used toward continuing renovations to the women's basketball practice facility and funding a foreign trip for the program.
