Becker Earns NFCA All-Southeast Region Honors

The University of Louisville's Maryssa Becker has been selected to the 2015 National Fastpitch Coaches (NFCA) Division I All-Southeast Region third team as announced by the association Thursday. The all-region teams were voted on by NFCA member coaches from each respective region and are eligible for selection to one of three 2015 NFCA Division I All-American teams.
Becker, a sophomore from Medford, Ore., picks up her second NFCA all-region honor as a pitcher/utility player after leading the Cardinals in several categories this season. In the circle, she carries a 14-7 record with a 2.22 ERA and 137 strikeouts in 157.1 innings of work. She has posted six shutouts on the season including one-hitters against Kentucky and Western Kentucky. Becker became Louisville's first ACC Pitcher of the Week on April 14.
The 2015 All-ACC first team selection has collected a team-high 39 RBIs and has belted out nine homers on the season. She currently stands third on the team with a .350 batting average.
Louisville (30-17) earned its 12th straight NCAA tournament bid and will face Kansas in the first game of the Columbia Regional Friday at 5 p.m. (ET) at Missouri's University Field. The game will be shown on ESPN3.
